The Routine Vaccination of Children during COVID-19

The COVID-19 pandemic has emerged as a serious public health emergency. On 11 March 2020, the World Health Organization (WHO) declared this incident as a “Public Health Emergency of International Concern” based on the International Health Regulations (IHR - 2005). The Turkish Republic’s Ministry of Health has been closely following global efforts in response to the COVID-19 pandemic from its partners across the globe.

Immunization services are an indispensable part of healthcare services. These services continue without interruption at healthcare facilities across Turkey in accordance with the COVID-19 pandemic measures.

Parents should follow the vaccination status of their children. When the designated vaccination time comes, they should contact family physicians and be informed about the vaccination process.

Since schools are closed during the lockdown, you can get your child's routine school vaccinations by contacting your family physician.
